Immaturity, inexperience often lead to serious car accidents

On Behalf of Rush Injury Law

Teenage drivers usually face higher insurance premiums because they are considered at higher risk for accidents based on their youth and inexperience. Though there are exceptions, many younger drivers struggle with impetuous actions along with the new-found freedom that comes with having a license to drive, all of which can lead to reckless behavior and serious car accidents. One California teenager is facing murder charges after causing a fatal wreck.

Police officers reported to the scene of a deadly collision that occurred near an intersection in Woodland Hills. According to responding officers, a 17-year-old male driver was operating his vehicle in a reckless manner for several blocks. The driver allegedly disregard a traffic signal and raced through the intersection against the light. His vehicle smashed into the side of a pickup truck. The impact killed the driver of that vehicle.

The teen’s car went on to collide with two other vehicles before coming to a stop. Police stated that two victims were transported with serious injuries and another passenger in one of the vehicles suffered only minor injuries. It was unclear whether the two people in serious condition were passengers in the other vehicles or were the teen driver and his passenger.

The driver of the truck was not immediately identified, and there were no other details released concerning the occupants of the other two automobiles that the teen hit. The 17-year-old was arrested on murder charges according to California officials because the driver’s actions reflected a blatant disregard for the lives and safety of others. Whenever negligence leads to senseless car accidents, the lives of those affected are never the same. Along with the physical and emotional wounds that have been inflicted, the resulting monetary losses only compound the pain and suffering that victims must endure. However, it may be possible to seek recompense for these damages through the civil justice system.
